  1. Misakafags are obviously cheating. She's the only character that hasn't gotten "against" votes when the rest of the characters who used to be on top did.

  2. Checking my logs, she seems to have gotten several votes against in the past couple of hours. (She lost to Hinagiku in the past hour or so.)

Elo ratings are relatively resilient to attacks. The more votes a character has (compared to her opponent), the less she gains from a win, and the more she loses from a loss. So when the attack is over, she'll lose points rapidly until reaching the proper level.

(I'm also not clear that this is an illegitimate attack, rather than just the way the voting is going.)

  3. I noticed that you have ruled Sasami in the Pretty Sammy series to be the same Sasami as in the Tenchi Muyo series.

Now there is no doubt that Pretty Sammy is a spin off. But they have different last names, different backstories, and even different personalities (to some extent).

My understanding has always been that most fans do not consider them to be the same character, anymore than Louise and Shana, or Tabitha and Nagato. They are clearly derivatives of each other, but not really the same character.

  4. Tsukimiya Ayu is listed as from the series KANON, all the other characters are from Kanon.

Thought you might want to know.

  5. I think a closer comparison would be the different versions of Misaka Mikoto from Index and Railgun, or Soryuu Asuka Langley and Shikinami Asuka Langley from Evangelion. Magical Girl Pretty Sammy originated in the Mihoshi OVA, and also showed up in Tenchi Universe - it's pretty much the same character.

Tabitha and Nagato share a voice actress, but that's it. Sammy doesn't even have a consistent voice actress, but she's still pretty much the same character throughout, so she has one entry.

One rule is - if the two came up at once, could you decide who to vote for? I think it's easy to decide between Shana and Louise, but I'd have trouble making a distinction between Sasami and Sammy.

Thanks for pointing out the mistake with Kanon, and thanks for adding the characters.

  6. Well, I guess it's just a different perspective.

Me, I'd have no problem voting for Sasami Jurai over Sasami Misaki (Pretty Sammy). Don't even really have to think to hard about it.

    But, your site, your rules.

I'm not broken up about it or anything.

  7. this contest is retarded. questionable legitimacy and security of votes. very susceptible to multi-voting

  8. The voting pattern today has been very strange.

  9. Satoko Houjou and Rika Furude have their names written in western order.
Also the ni in "Higurashi no Naku Koro ni" is capitalized for Rika, Rena and Satoko but not for Hanyuu or Mion.

Evangeline is credited as a "Negima" character while the other Negima girls are all "Mahou Sensei Negima".

Elsea de Lute Irma is credited as "The World Only God Knows" while all the other characters from the series a credited as "The World God Only Knows".
Also Haibara Nanaka hasn't appeared in the anime yet.

  10. I voted yesterday, but today it still says that I already voted for all the characters.

Did it not roll over for some reason? Or did an impersonator cast ballots for me?

  11. Two anons ago: Thanks for the corrections. I've made the changes.

One anon ago: The data resets 23 hours after you began voting yesterday. So if you wait long enough, it will reset for you.

  12. I see, thanks. I thought it just rolled over at midnight pacific time.

  13. Usagi Tsukino is western order, it should be Tsukino Usagi.
The no in Shakugan no Shana is capitalized for Hecate. It shouldn't be.
Erika is credited as Heartcatch Precure! all the other Heartcatch girls are credited as Heartcatch Precure without the exclamation point.

  15. You said no male characters but I saw traps. Boys can be moe too you know.
Also, I added Miku, Rin, Len, Luka, and Gumi.

  16. For now, I'm leaving it as a contest for female characters (or at least characters that are female part of the time). If any traps have slipped through, please post them here.

  17. An interesting feature I think would be a match history for a character.

So if you were on say, Haruhi Suzumiya's page, you could ask for match history vs Shana, and it would tell you the number of matches Haruhi has had against Shana, and what her winning percentage or win/loss ration is.

The numbers won't mean anything right now, but as time goes on you could start to accumulate some interesting statistics.

  18. Thanks for making this bro, its a nice game.

  19. It would be nice and helpful if we know how many different ip addresses submitted the votes everyday. That will tell us how many people bother to vote each day. Another nice feature maybe cumulative number of different ip addresses that has submitted a vote so far. While that number will be bigger than actual number of people voting, it will give us some idea of level of activity here.

  20. It's a good idea. I track this with analytics, so I know this, but haven't had time to make it public. Right now, we get about 40 visitors a day, about 30 of which go on to vote. This number varies wildly - we just got linked from a French site, which pushed us past 100 in both categories.

All told, we've had 549 visitors, 1,760 visits, and 90,960 page views. (And you can see the number of votes on the site.)

I'm not sure where to go with this - at some point, it might make sense to open the site up to the community.

  21. stats and pictures for Amamiya Yuuko and Yuuko Amamiya needs to be combined

  22. pictures and vote records for Amamiya Yuuko and Yuuko Amamiya needs to be combined. Amamiya Yuuko is the proper Japanese Name, and I do believe the instruction on adding characters/pictures say use the name in proper Asian(Japanese) order.

  23. Something doesn't seem right.

How did Kotegawa Yui go from a consistent below 1500 to the top spot in just three days?
